REGENCY Fuel Problem
My 35' REGENCY with a Detroit 8.2 is not holding prime. If it sets for a week or so, the only way I can get it to start is to use the priming switch and auxiliary starting switch. Even then it is difficult to start. There is an electric fuel pump in the tank. Is there a check valve in this system; and, if so, where is it located? If there is a check valve, is it serviceable or must it be replaced (Part Number/Source)? Any ideas on the cause of this; and how it may be corrected. Does anyone have a fuel system diagram for this unit?
Thanks in Advance,
Steve

I don't know the particular diesel, but have learn the hard way, that they hate any leaks on the fuel lines. Problem is, that you don't see the leaks >> on vacuumed lines the air enters the line, pump, injectors, and engine doesn't run on air. Check all the fuel line, water separator is often having lot of potential and don't use rubber hoses. On my old diesel all the start -up problems stopped, when I replaced all pieces of the tubing/hose/clamp line with 1 piece of copper tubing.
