Barth 1979 28 P-30 chevy 454 does anyone know if they came with a smog pump mounted on the engine for emissions? Mine does not have one now and i was wondering if it ever did. Thanks Richard

"..i was wondering if it ever did."

Probably not; if it did: each cast-iron exhaust manifold will have 4 threaded holes near the top (one for each port). If it came with a pump, stainless tubes went from the pump to each hole, and the manifold holes will have been plugged by whoever removed the pump. Also, if the crank pulley has an unused groove that MAY (?) indicate a pump.
Why do you care? Don't think about adding one!!

My P30 chassis was built in late 1978 for a '79 model year Barth....carb'd 454.....no smog...I think a PCV was about as high tech as they got back then......But, since this was during the leaded, low-lead, no-lead transitional years, I guess anything's possible.......
