Changing Front TV 9" to 13"
I am changing out the front TV 9" to 13" with DVD. Since I only have 12V there at present I am going to use a 300W Inverter. The Tv only requires 75W. The Tv is a
Toshiba MD13N1 13. I have two ways to go here for power:

1. Use the Inverter 300W (is this OK?).
2. Install a 110V outlet in cabinet
next to TV and route the line
thru cabinets and down wall behind
co-pilots chair to recepticle..This
recepticle is HOT when plugged in to
shore and HOT by using coach 1500
Inverter.

Any comments, suggestions etc appreciated.

Al,

I don't have a clue, knowledge-wise, but doesn't barnyard theory suggest that a dedicated inverter would provide "cleaner" electricity to an electronic device, rather than sharing power with the house inverter and it's on/off loads from other sources?

Hopefully, those-who-know will respond - I'm interested in the answer too....To me, the cost of a dedicated inverter is cheap when compared to the frustration on snaking wires......

I installed the same set. My old set was hooked up to 12v, but I found a 110v Romex cable with a taped off end lying behind the Luan paneling of the TV cabinet. I like the 110v, but I don't dry camp.

Thanks guys for the comments. Well today I completed the task of the TV conversion. With the help of my brother who has all the wood working equipment we made a new cabinet(Oak) and installed the 13" TV... I went with the inverter (try the easier and cheaper route first) ... WA-LA she works great on cable, antenna and satellite to my surprise. Now to stain the cabinet. Ed, I will look behind the luan and see if I have a spare 110V(just in case)....sure hope so.
