Will attempt to bleed the brakes before our trip to Stone Mountain State Park. Guess we have the hydroboost system in the 85 Regal. I've bled brakes on cars before. Had no problem. Any difference here? Thanks

Do it with the engine running and all four wheels blocked.

BTW, how long has it been since a fluid change, and what fluid did you use?

The reason I ask is that my free advice is for flatlanders to change fluid every other year and descenders to do it yearly.
Fluid changing is really just a longer bleeding process with the brake-pedal-pusher-person topping off the reservoir as needed, so if you are bleeding you are doing most of the work of changing fluid without the benefit of changing fluid.

There has been a lot of discussion here on fluid changing.

With the Hydroboost, it's not necessary to have the engine running.

Will be bleeding the brakes next Tuesday, the 2nd. The GM book that came with the Regal said Dot 3. Bought some from NAPA, but somewhere I read that they liked ATE. I can't find a source for ATE G which is their DOT 3. ATE tech people said you can't use anything else. Does anyone know of a source for ATE G?

Tire Rack carries several ATE brake fluid products but they are all DOT 4. But they are checking with ATE to see if they can order some ATE G (DOT 3)
ATE says that pre-1990 vehicles used DOT 3 and that post-1990 used DOT 4 and that you can't mix one with the other, and, that if it says DOT 3, then you have to use DOT 3.Thanks
