Getting ready to take our Barth on it's maiden voyage and have noticed the rivets have come out of the aluminum body in several places. We have been unable to locate the plastic (or are they teflon?) rivets like the ones originally used, and steel rivets will cause rust, not to mention they are the wrong size. Anyone else ever had to replace rivets? Thanks!

Ace Hardware Store also has a good selection of aluminum and stainless steel pop style rivets of various sizes and lenghts.

I used them to redo a compartment door.

You are going to want aluminum rivets with aluminum mandrels and CLOSED ENDS. They are available from Hanson Rivet Co. or many online sources. The closed end are waterproof and will not allow water to get to the steel. Carefully measure the holes after you punch the broken one through the skin and frame. If you use a size that is 5/8 or longer you will have a sound connection through both metals. Use the large rivet setter, not the hand held plier type. The tool will be useful because after every trip you will see a few break due to flex of the coach. There at least three different diameter sizes on the Barth.
