Regal or Regency? Can anyone help?
Hi. I just purchased my second Barth, a 1985 model. Drove 1600 miles across country to purchase it and drive it home. There seems to be some descrepency as to whether it is a regal or a regency? Can anyone tell me the difference? After suppling my insurance agent with the vin progressive has declared it a regency. Title was of no help, apperantly in nevada it was titled by chassis make, title only reads chevy. Any help would be appreciated. I will post pics of my new love over the holiday.

A Chevy engine and/or chassis would be a Regal or the kinda sort of equivalent of a Regal. My KBB shows the first Regal in '86, and NADA says '85, but anything except a copy of a factory document or publication is apocryphal. But, I doubt that anyone would make a major dispute over calling any gas puller Class A a Regal, regardless of the year.

Some owners of 6.5 pushers called them Regals, even.

I am sure Nick will weigh in, and ask you for your build plate info, but Regal sounds good.

bill h is correct - it's a Regal (or pre-Regal, as some coaches of that configuration didn't get a name early on). Regencies are all diesel pushers, on MCC, Gillig, or Spartan chasses.

There is a paucity of model identifiers on Barth coaches themselves.

Hey Drew,

Where in Oklahoma are you? I'm in the Pauls Valley area. What Barth did you buy? Mine is a 1984 34' tandem axle Regal.

1985 gasoline power is a Regal. The only time it wouldn't be a Regal is if it's a commercial unit - then, it would be called "Commercial"

DATA TAG info would be helpful...

Looking forward to the images. Smiler
