lenny and judygen switch
WE have a Three wire switch in the starter switch. well there are these(RED WIRES)two of them on the switch with one black one.i had trouble with it starting for a long time, finally replacing sensors on the gen . I PUT the wires on the switch (red black then red)the starter sounded like a bad ground or bendix spring.Did not start. Then I put (black red red)from top to bottom it Started but like a bull but would not shut off Went back to orignal(red black red)it shut off. what did do?

RustyLenny, not enough info. You need to check voltages at those wires both into and out of the switch, with the switch in all three positions.

lenny and judythanks guys i think maybe I will put off fixing it. Maybe I will put in a single switch temporarily to cut the power going one of the red wires until elkhart when the experts can help me fix it.
am leaving for Elkhart May 15th
