headers - ford 460 87 model
i am in the process of a minor rebuilt on my 460. New intake manifold, lifters and push rods. What headers will work for the John Deere chasis and our barth? Thorley would be fine. I dont want to spend 2k on banks. Help.

You said you had"plenty of power" a few weeks ago on your site. What happened? I just got a Banks system, and am installing it this week.Yes, it is 2K plus install.
Bill h likes Thorley for the performance and the $.Campers World has Gibson Systems on sale.

it does have plenty of power. i am fixing exhaust leaks and it make sense to cool the engine with headers. Power has not been an issue with my 460 on a 27 ft coach. I am also running a holly 750cm double pump carb. let me know how the banks works out. i have heard good things about it.

If you're looking for a ceramic coated header for heat and rust protection, check out Hedman Hedders - Elite through Jeg's or Summit Racing. I paid about $260 for my Chevy. They do have a bigger 3" collector which means less backpressure/less torque, but the rust resistance/heat reduction of the ceramic coating-(last 10 times longer than chrome) was my deciding factor. I have had headers rust completely through on cars in the past. They even make headers for Dodge chassis motorhomes.
