Nick
It is a throttle pull cable. I installed it when I was setting up my ignition centrifugal and vacuum advance curves. I would lie under there with a timing light, a tach, vacuum gauge, vacuum pump, and a notebook. My harmonic dampner is degreed and the timing pointer is best seen from underneath.
This might sound like picking fly specks out of pepper, but all gassers respond to distributor curving, and the 502 needs a different advance curve than the 454.
I wish I had a distributor machine.
And a dyno.

Dave & Shannon OHWe just recently purchased our Barth - 1985 28' Regal. I am beginning the process of rebuilding the front suspension. I am having trouble finding the right bushings for the IPD bar. Any suggestions?

Roadmaster is now selling the same bar. I believe the Hellwig bar for the P30 is also the same diameter, but measure before you call them. Hellwig is very good about parts, and might be more reasonable price-wise.

John C.IPD Is no longer selling Motorhome suspension parts. They sold that part of the business to Roadmaster a few years ago. Most likely the same parts, just a different name. Don't know how the prices compare now to what they where when IPD did it.

bud@YXYHi John
I'm not sure what size bar is used on your coach. Our P-30/32(?) is a 1977/76, 21ft coach which uses a 1.25 inch diameter bar. I replaced the end bushings a couple of years ago with neoprene type that were a GM part # 8891-2397 or AC part 45G0628(it might be 4SG0628---- my poor writing.)

Dave & Shannon OHThe manual for the coach has written on it P32 but when my mechanic ran the serial number it came back as a P30. Anyway, the front sway bar measures exactly 1.5 inches. I can only find bushings for 1 5/8th inches or 1.25.
