After reading about yet another fire potentially due to the refer, I suggest folks check on their box to see if it needs the recall.

Another common cause of fires are wasp nests in the refrigerator flues or also in the exhausts of the central heaters. Luckily I found nests in 2 of my 3 central heaters. I looked down the refrigerator chimney and it was clean.

Thanks Corey,

I checked and Tonka's fridge is on the list too. I checked the Dometic website and scheduled a recall inspection at my local authorized dealer (Camping World) for Thursday. Does anyone know what the fix (installation of a SBH kit) involves.

This is critically important safety information that we most likely would not have heard about were it not for you good folks and this website.

Thank you all,
Wally

The defect is faulty welds in the piping. The "fix" doesn't fix the defect, it only provides for shutting off 120 VAC power and propane in the event of a fire.
