Speedo and cruise control
On the way to Az the speedometer in the Regency would quit working for a while then come back on line. And, if the speedo won't work then the cruise control doesn't either.
It is the original 0-85mph instrument and is marked as TELEFLEX USA.
It's likely the system will fail completely soon so it is something that I will want to fix before we head back north in March.
Anyone with some experience with a failing speedo and cruise?
Thanks folks.

If both the speedometer and the cruise control are quiting at the same time, it is most likely a sending unit or connection to the sending unit. do both the speed and odometer quit? On mine the speed needle swings wildly for the first 200 or so miles after sitting for some time but the odometer works and tallys the miles accurately.

Earlier models with the 4 speed trans have a speed pick up located some where near the output shaft of the transmission,

Gary Carter can you help here, I know you will be looking at this for your conversion.

With the C engine he probably has a 600 series transmission. If this is the case it has a mechanical drive at the rear of the transmission (rear is to the front) and probably has a electrical pickup at that point.

Your diagnostic seems right on as I believe the first year of the 3000 series was late 91 and installed in 92 model coaches.
