Tom LoughneyCB Antenna for WiFi?
I am looking for a wifi antenna, and I am considering removing the CB from the rig as I have never used it and don't think it is state of the art technology. While on top I thought that it was about the correct length for a WiFi antenna and if I could connect it to a receiver it would save me effort in taking one out and putting a new antenna in its place.
Anybody have any info?

Mogan DavidSome wi fi cards do accept an external antenna. Howerver, I think the connection is different from a CB antenna connection.
More than a year ago I had been shopping for a long range wi fi antenna and thought I kept some notes. sorry I cannot find them, except for this bookmark:

RustyThe CB antenna operates at wavelengths far longer (lower frequencies: 27 MHz) than wi-fi (2.4-5.0 GHz). It won't work. I use an external USB adaptor, which works very well.

Thanks, I ordered a usb 5db antenna for starters. The other units are $150 up but give up to 15db gain.
