Gary CarterParking Brake Cable
Mine broke. The Breakaway has 4 wheel disc brakes and therefore the parking brake is mounted to the rear(towards the front of the MH) of the transmission. There is an spring brake can mounted on the chassis that operates a cable to pull the brake on. To replace is a fairly easy job if you have the wheels off and an impact wrench. However, hold on to your wallet. This 4' cable is almost $400 retail. $300 dealer price which the gave me shipped in. Had to swallow hard on that one.
I do not know if there would be a way to lube or not, but someone might know for the sake of others.

RustyI would feel your pain, but on my GM-powered coach, the shaft brake is disengaged by an actuator powered by P/S pump pressure...$450 + $85 labor.
