Hello,
I'm reaching out to the forum again. The hard oil cooler line developed a crack where the steady bracket holds it under the radiator. Tried JB Weld (not a fan but needs must...) and it held for a bit but then oil leaked under and out. Local parts stores can't source it. I do have a great fabricator who can probably help but I'm away at work for a bunch of days and maybe someone in the US can direct me to new part source. I'm also can use two new rear axle rubber snubber brackets. Current ones have been butchered by a torch and won't support the new airbags. Fabrication is probably going to happen there as well.

It looks like your cooler setup is similar to mine. The lines were aluminum tubing. Unfortunately, they are not easily patched. (Steel or copper you can solder on a patch.) The pressure is too high for adhesive patches, as you have found.

I see several options.

Quick and dirty… if the leak is a small hole, you may be able to cut a saddle of rubber tubing and clamp it over the hole with hose clamps.

You can cut off the ends, reinstall them and reconnect with a flexible hose line. Assume 100 psi working pressure. A slight flare on the end helps keep the hose on, double clamps are not a bad idea either.

For a more permanent splice you could install a replacement tubing section of aluminum, steel or copper tubing with flare fitting splices.

You could fabricate an entire replacement from tubing but I think the O ring ends would require a shop to duplicate.

Good luck, keep us posted. mechanic

I've found my local hydraulics shop can make a lot of things. They fabricated my rubber external oil cooler lines - 300psi.

I took it down to my local hydraulic shop. They can't repair and cannot make the big flare required. My fab guy is a wizard with aluminum so I'll give him a shout when I get home. Will probably have to weld on some AN -6 fittings and make up a flexible hose. PITA but all part of owning a classic.

Link to an on-line source but the photos of oil lines aren't the same ones that I need. The rear bracket listings show 3 different numbers - does it relate to VIN? Two aren't available but will the third work?
