My LP tank level indication in the coach always reads full. There is no local indicator on the tank. Disconnected wires at the tank and checked for resistance of the sensor, but reads open. I'm assuming this indicates a bad sensor (guessing resistance should change with tank level). Anyone have this issue? I'm coming up empty on the web for much information or parts.

The fine hair-like wire on the sensor generally breaks or shorts to show full. They are about $75 dollars at most RV shops. Here is the way to replace the sensor.

If you cannot get it send me a PM as the RV store by my house has them in stock.

Thanks Kevin! The screws won't budge of course so I hit them with a little WD40 to let them soak and surprise there is a local indicator! Reads empty as it should. Lol. The gauge face was perfectly obcured by a coating of fine dust. Mine appears to be a Rodchester screw in type. At least I have indication while I source a part. Thanks again Kevin, i'm much smarter now....well maybe a little.

Be sure you are removing the correct screws. Go to page 4 just above number 5 in the description. The gauge is operated by a magnet. It is held on by two screws. Do not remove the four screws holding the float that is inside the tank. The plastic gauge will be connected to your panel display and grounded to the tank.
WD40 is garbage that is mass marketed and dumped on unsuspecting consumers. Use a mixture of transmission fluid and acetone at one to one ratio.

No worries. I have the Rodchester Jr screw in as in figure 5.2, so it's obvious what needs to come apart. The tank is mt anyway I just had the lp system maintenance done (leak repaired and new regulator installed, system pressure test) and after I did the generator maintenance, I ran what small amount of propane they put in out during generator test. But thanks for your concern. You've been a great help.
