Rick & Marcianew purchase
My wife and I just purchased coach # 3225 built in 1985. Boy are we happy campers. It came with all of the original equipment info, etc. in the Barth binder, plans and all. Ready to buff to new.
I have one problem though. I can't get the water heater or the furnace to come on even though I have had both running properly the day before. Can this be a function of the coach being level. Could it have to do with the propane bottle height?
Boy is this thing cool!!! Any held would be greatly appreciated.
Rick

RustyAgree with Ray (Sky). Those appliances aren't level-sensitive (but reefers are).

RustyRecycle the LPG sniffer. The furnace should bleed the system of air. Does the stove work?

Thanks to all who offered advice. I thought it had to be level. But, the stove works. How do I "reset the propane warning unit and see if that helps"
8506 3225 22FP1 is the actual coach number. Thanks for posting the link to ebay . Yes, we got lucky on this one. Everything works and it is cleaning up nicely. Our first RV!!!
Thanks again

Rick & MarciaThe hot water heater fired up today. I'm going to leave it on and see what happens.
I turned on the alarm at the footwell entrance with hopes of this being the "warning unit " others spoke of.

Sloop John BIf you turn off the porpane, or the main power switch mid stay, the warning unit will beep so just reset it. All who wander are not lost.

RustyTurning off the propane at the tank will have no effect on the sniffer, but turning off the 12VDC master switch will. Usually when 12VDC is restored, the sniffer will beep continuously.

Rick & MarciaThanks guys. 12vdc master switch is a little over my head. I do have the wiring plan for the unit so I will see if I can find the switch.
Is it the switch that changes it over to the generator (shore?)
I'm very mechanically inclined but RV's are new to me! I do understand house wiring and can read auto wiring diagrams.

RustyThere should be a rocker switch near the door which shuts off 12VDC from the house batteries.
The shore/genset power cutover relay is a different item.
If any of the propane appliances work, the sniffer and its solenoid valve are working.

Yes, the stove works and the water heater worked yesterday. So I assume the sniffer is workinng properly?
I haven't had time to look at it today. I'll also look at the plan.

Kirk & EliseHi Rick,
Welcome to the site. We have a 22 footer also, but I do like that naked paint look of yours. Can't wait to see how you make out with the polisher... lots of threads here on that. I think that Mother's ball gets lots of kudos.
I was outside today and the camera was handy, so here is the location of the rocker switch Rusty mentions. On our coach, it is right on the floor on the left as you enter the doorway.
Best wishes with your 'new' Barth.

Rick & MarciaWow! Thanks Kirk. Finally know what I am looking for. I have a LP detector similar to the one shown. I still haven't run across the other switch though!!! And I have cleaned just about every inch of that thing. Gonna be fun once I figure it all out. Thanks for your help. I'll keep looking.

Rick & MarciaI did run across the gen/shore switch. But another reader suggested this is a different switch than the one that you show.
