MichaelRBreakaway Entrance Step
Hello Members,
Anyone had any dealings with broken entrance steps? Opened the door this morning to discover the entrance step was extended. Took a look underneath and discovered the linkage from the step to the step motor shaft had broken,(cast part so no weld fix possible). Company is Kwikel Products. Didn't find any discussion on the forum for this,(could have overlooked it if there). Going to Google "Kwikle", but sure would appreciate anyone's experience with a similar incident and the outcome. Thanks.

MichaelRNo wonder I couldn't fine any history on the forums under,"Kwikle". Guess the corrosion on the cover plate had the "E" looking like an "L". Found lot's of chatter about "Kwikee" steps. Will take a look on the net for the replacement parts.

RustyYou will probably find that you'll have to drill new holes in the mounting plate, and that the wiring will have to be altered.

Gary CarterReplaced ours a couple of years ago. Had the single step that was almost wore out.
There is a RV salvage company (Jakes I think)in Jackson, MN that sells surplus steps. I wanted a two stepper that they did no have so bought a three stepper and cut off the bottome step. Works really great.
I now have a number of spare parts in Yuma, but will not be back until october.
Ok looked it up. Jakes rv salvage in Fairmont, MN
