Hubcap Removal
'92 Breakway:
Can anyone explain how to remove these hubcaps? (prying on the outer rim does not seem to work and bends the rim.)

One must: remove the caps that are over the wheel nuts and then remove the wheel nuts. NOTE: this also removes the wheel, therefore it is critical that the coach be properly supported prior to this.
Our Breakaway has 22.5 inch wheels and the wheel nuts torqued to several hundred foot pounds!

Thanks for your response. I understand about wheel nuts/supporting MH/torqueing nuts. Regarding this particular hubcap, do the wheel nut caps come off separately from the hubcap and then the wheel nuts, then the hubcap?.

On my caps you can remove the Crome nuts holding the hub cap on without removing the actual lug nuts holding the wheel on. They just screw onto the studs. I have a special tool that came with the caps, but you can use a largest socket for this.

As REGLOVER said, it looks like you have stainless steel wheel covers. Remove the two nut covers that have dimples in them, then you'll see the 2 nuts that hold the covers on.

Getting close! Yes, I see the two nut covers with dimples. Tried to unscrew. Very tight. Or do the pry off?

Pry off.

On mine they actually screw off.

Mine screwed off. For future readers of this subject, note 1 3/4' socket to remove and most importantly, driver's/left side lugs nuts, including those holding on the hubcaps, are reverse thread. Loosen by turning clockwise.
