LouWhoRear AC
Is it possible to run the front AC on the generator when traveling, 1991 Barth? We had an AC hose pop off and were unable to find a switch to run the front AC unit? Any help is appreciated.

vdubnutThe front AC runs like it does in your car, the compressor is powered by a belt/pulley on your engine... Rather than an electric motor like a roof-top AC.
So, you wouldn't be able to run the front AC off the Generator unless you run the front AC compressor off an electric motor. (not what you want to do.)

Dick DubbsI suspect this person is refering to the 110V ceiling AC

Bill N.Y.I have 2 roof mounted a/c units and can run them both off of my generator while driving.
My generator is 7k. Kohler 7CKM21

LouWhoI was refering to roof mounted AC's. Is there a switch or lock out? With the generator running only our rear AC ran. Thanks! Lou

BonesA friend called me about his RV with 2 roof a/c units. He said he could only use his rear a/c when plugged into shore power. He did finally find a switch to pick which a/c unit would run when plugged in. He wanted to wire it so both could run. I told him not with a 30amp connection.
He can run both with the genny.
