Ed ChevalierOnan Generator Maintenance
After a great Memorial Weekend I decided to do some genset maintenance. I pulled the port side head and cleaned the carbon. It had built up quite a bit. This is supposed to be done every 200 hrs. and it sure seemed to liven' up the old genny. I would like to do the inboard side, but without a slide this seems to be a major operation. Has anyone put slides on their 6.5 Onan genny? Also, some #'s that might be useful
NGK TR4 plugs
Air filter O'Reilly Prime Line 7-02246/NAPA Gold 2371 - replaces Onan 140-0495
Oil Filter Deutsch D485 replaces Onan 122-0800 (this oil filter is just about a inch longer and makes it easier for removal)

davebowersHi Ed,
Thanks for the important Generator info. By the way did you know that you were the 91st guy to sign up on this website. Thanks for your support. I also recall that yours was one of the very first images on the gallery.
