Air Conditioner Question
I was cleaning the roof air conditioner and noticed that the Freon cylinder was rusting. My question is... is it ok to put WD-40 on it or possibly spray paint it?

No... never asked the question before. I have the shroud off now and wanted to try stopping or slowing the rust. Don't have any experience with this. So, spray paint will be ok?

WD40 is not a particular favorite around this site. There are numerous other superior products, depending on whether you want solvent, penetrating oil, anti corrosive or lubricating properties. It has been discussed in numerous contexts in several threads. Can't beat a good coat of paint for protection. Thumbs Up

To late Kevin. Already painted it with black spray paint and it looks good. It's all back together now. Thanks Steve and Kevin for your quick responses.
