Hi folks,
We just returned from our first trip in the Barth. 3,024 miles in about 12 days. Ran great, and no major problems or issues to speak of. Ran it from N. Florida to Northern NJ, and Upstate NY, then back via I-81 to NC and home. One of the relatively minor issues that came up was that the Dometic AC/gas refrigerator stopped working on gas. Checked the stove, and noted that it wouldn't light either. Both were working fine when we left, and for half the trip. Propane tank valves are still open, but gas is obviously not flowing on the vapor side (liquid propane is fine, as generator works fine running on it). What else should I check? I see a regulator of some type on the tank where the vapor line flows out. Is this the likely issue?

You may have a propane detector that controls an electric valve. If it is turned off or has detected propane, it should shut off the source of propane at the tank. OR, the solenoid operated valve may be defective. That "regulator" you are referring to may be that control valve, check if any wires are going to it.

I don't have this on mine but I do have a propane detector which I leave on all the time we are in or around the coach. For some reason this was not wired into a valve, all I have are manual valves on the tank for vapor and liquid control.

Hi Ed,
Thanks very much. There is a detector, which is on. Will check all of that, which will hopefully lead to a solution. I just ran the generator while on the road instead, which I mostly needed for the roof AC anyway. The trip went very well. Coach ran great (much thanks to you!), and the only issues I had were the house issues I already knew about, and this one. No Cummins or chassis issues at all, which was great, considering this is our first trip, and was a fairly long one.
I hope you had a good trip as well!

Thanks Ed. That was easy. You were right. Somehow the propane alarm got turned off, and as you indicated, that turns off the gas supply on the vapor side. I've always left that alarm on when in the coach, so I didn't think to check it. Anyway, that did it. I thought I only had the two manual valves, one for liquid, one for vapor. Didn't realize there was a solenoid.

That was a cheep fix, glad that was all it was.

I have yet to wire a solenoid in mine, I have to get the solenoid first as it isn't there, the detector is and works and the wire is cut and tied back, someone must have taken it out--

My trip was VERY good! the race wasn't great but the country was gorgeous! OH, I forgot to send you the picture link, I will do that later!
