Towing Capacity
Hey everyone,

I own a 31' 1990 Barth Regal, and I'm considering getting a toad, but I have no idea what the towing capacity is. Can anyone share any details, or point me to any info online?

It's a 460 Ford V8(gas) engine...thanks in advance!

Regards,
Jason

Welcome to the forums! Many Barths had no plate with GCVW listed. You might try contacting Ford or a dealer - if it's a Ford chassis. More likely, it's a Deere or Workhorse.

Hey Rusty,

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it. We found a toad (Saturn SL2) that's about 2300 lbs. so I'm hoping I can at least flat-tow that without a problem.

If not, we're doomed to ride our bikes everywhere Smiler

Jason

Towed a 5000 pound boat all over Oklahoma last year no problems. If the pic loads, we are parked on an uneven surface the boat did not lower the rear end any at all, just looks like it in the photo. I did not even know it was back there. Launching it was the biggest problem with the rv. That was tricky in a few locations. We plan to tow a Chevrolet Tahoe this year on a flatbed trailer, will let you know if it breaks.

I'll bet it was! Backing with a trailer is really tricky with the overhang swinging around in back. Best trick for that is a front receiver to hook the trailer to the front...
There was a thread on that somewhere on this site.
Good luck!

I got this Reese receiver and bolted it (through the safety chain slots) onto the front bumper license plate area of my Pleasure-Way Class B. I am going to put non-skid material on it in order to step onto it for cleaning WS and front of raised roof.
