Jim and Tere5-speed allison
Anybody ever heard of a 5-speed Allison that was not push button? As in, manually shift through gears.

Mogan DavidThere have been a couple Barths with manual transmissions discussed here. But, those would not be Allison transmissions. Within the last year or so, there was an odd ball on a Ford chassis with stick shift.

Jim and TereSorry, I didn't mean shift as in a manual transmission

. What I meant is a 5-speed where you have to move the shifter to the 'drive' position, as well as the neutral and reverse positions. I was thinking that all Allison 5/6 speed trannys were electrical, i.e., push button.

Gary CarterMy Allison 2000 is a 5 speed that uses the same shifter as the 545 did. I do have a switch on the dash to allow or disallow overdrive (5th). A lot of cars have this same type of overdrive on the shifter.

Jim and TereGary, have you ever heard of that kind of set up coming out of the factory on a '92 28' Breakaway?
