Repair Issues 1986 33ft/454 Chevy.
I am in the process of making my 1986 road worthy again. I have several glitches. First; the windshield fans are not running presently, as well as my outside mirrors. I believe this to be electrical, but I'm not sure where the ciruits for these items would be. Can anyone give me an idea of where to search? It doesn't look like they are included with the chevy circuit board.

Second; I have a Neway Tandem Air 3rd axle Air Suspension System. How does this work and where is the pump? I have run the motor for a short period, but don't notice any increase in pressure. How long should this take? If I have problems other than the hoses, what should I look for and where? If the problem is hose, again, what and where should I look for problems?

Thank you for any help.

I think you will find the fuse for your fans under the dash on the floor above where you left food would rest.

If you haven't started the coach for a while, remember that you have to have a certain about of juice in your batteries before you steps and fans will work. I don't understand it but someone will explain it.

I have attached the Neway manual to this post. Once you open it you can save a copy o your computer and then printed it.

Good luck...

My 33' 1990 has a hatch on top of the dash that gives access to the instruments and electrical circuits for the fans, etc.

The compressor for my Neway tag axle is mounted on a frame member on the passenger side right behind the grille. Access by opening the grille. I suggest starting at the compressor & following the air lines back to the axle. Leaks are most likely to be at connections, unless you find the hoses cracked along the length.

Your compressor could be faulty at this age. Mine wore out. I bought an identical replacement on eBay for considerably less than retail from a distributor.

If any literature came with your Barth, you may have instructions for the tag axle. I have a factory supplied loose leaf binder with a lot of stuff including a Neway instruction. Some of us were fortunate to have this factory literature, others not. If you have it, check it out. Lots of questions can be answered there. If you have nothing on the Neway, ask for help here. Someone will e-mail it to you. I'd offer right now, but my literature is in storage with the Barth.

I've found the compressor, it works when we put power directly to it, but we haven't found the power supply for it. This is minor, because we can use an other power source if necessary. We do have an air leak however. I believe it is the airbags. They seem to have a bit of dry rot. I'm trying to find a replacement, but haven't been able to find a part number for the bellows. Any suggestions? I have used the Neway manual, but can't find the necessary number.
I have found another circuit board, it has approx. 5 of the Glass cylinder Buss fuses. They seem to be ok, but I still can't get power to the fans or outside mirrors.
All suggestions appreciated. Thank you for your help so far.
I'll continue to search out the gremlins.

Thanks again,
