WELDING-GRINGING screen?

I want to take some plastic pipe and make up a GRINGING-WELDING-CUTTING portable fold-up screen. Any thoughts on what material I could and should use? I build artsy steel furniture and stuff and want to contain the GRINDING grit, WELDING and PLASMA cutting sparks. I want to make it approx. 8 X 8 X 6 feet high. Thanks, Dale

I will ask at work tomorrow. Ours are a flame-proof canvas, and are used for wind protection as much as anything, as lots of welding is done outside. They are laced through grommets to the frame. If you just want to catch sparks and slag, how about metal screen?

But in the meantime, have you checked Grainger or McMaster-Carr? Our frames are made of conduit tubing, as heat and slag makes mischief with plastic tubing, especially the plasma cutter.

Dale, our welder on our shift is missing, perhaps on vacation not posted. The guys I did talk to said probably a welding supply or Graingers or McMaster Carr. They also said window screen would stop small sparks, but a big gob of slag would go right through it, and also agreed that conduit would be better than plastic.

bill h. Thanks for the help. I have found some yellow flexible material that allows you to see thru same and will build it out of 1/2" thin conduit, and wire ties. Dale
