When will these Far East manufactures realize they should at least get an English author to write their copy? I mean, if they can't write an ad with proper grammar, how can I believe they know how to "make TV quality is good"?

Maybe they could outsource it to unemployed Americans.

Often I can understand people speaking English as a second language better than I can understand Native English speakers.

I live in Thailand where have we have many nationalities living there. Often the Swedes or German's or Iranians (yes) speak much better than some British, Irish, or Americans.

Proper English (not that I use this very often) is not as common as we would hope it would be.

But when you translate from the native language to English or from English back, the translation may not be easy to understand in the native language.

When I read Thai I often have difficulty as I do not understand the idioms in the written language (which is different than the spoken language) when reading the local newspaper.

I read this AD for the TV and I understand it, I do agree that it could be written differently, as I am an Engineer I would really have written it with more detail and facts, but a pure marketing specialist would have put much more sizzle and zing into this.

I wonder how we would re-write this copy? Any takers willing to give a re-write a try?

Tom

Now in Pahrump at Terribles RV park. Very nice, clean and COOL at least compared to Thailand.......

Just bought a 12vdc at Best Buy. Sams Club also has them.

They are not listed as 12vdc but use an external power supply the converts 120VAC to 12VDC. It works just great plugged into onboard 12VDC.

These units are the LCD/LED units. The use under 3 amps at 12VDC and weight less than 10 pounds. I bought the 22" TV.

I went with a Jensen unit. http://www.jensenrvdirect.com/...d-19-lcd-tv-419.html

I like the idea of $139 and free shipping. I especially like the idea of the conformal coated circuit boards. I have always been satisfied with the Jensen car audio products I'd bought.

It is interesting to note that with the UPS tracking information, it seems that my box is being shipped to me from Elkhart, Indiana. It makes me wonder if this TV was somehow associated with new RV production. I'll let you know what I find when it arrives.

happy motoring,
Matt

I've received it, but didn't hook it up yet. It looks great. By "reconditioned" I am thinking that because the unit is 5 years old, they verified it works still. The mfg date is 2007, so I am guessing that there is a warehouse in Elkhart that has these "NOS" units for rigs that never got made due to the economic conditions. Now with rigs getting built, no RV brand wants to use 5 year old TVs.

I didn't hook it up due to time spent on a wastewater tank. More about that elsewhere.

Just installed two LCD Tv's in the Barth. Each draws less that 30 watts! Plug them into an inverter and you don't need the added expense of a 12 volt set.
