Does anyone know how many different Class C Barths have been made.
and what was the last year they were made.
Were they only made as Chevrolet.

We have records of only a few Class Cs. They are mostly 1976, 77 or so. Most of those we know were on the GM 350 chassis but at least one was built on a Dodge 360 chassis around 1978. Doorman knows more I'm sure.

Rare beasts indeed. hmm

From the Barth Class C on this site I am guessing less than !00 were made between 1974-1978. Mostly Chevy G30 based. (350/400 tranny). A few on dodge chassis. There is a Ford 460 powered coach about 10 mile away from me. Owner says not for sale. Like all Barths they seam to all be custom and no two alike.
19' and 21', Front and Rear entry doors and different floor plans.

Wonder whatever happened to the Barth factory records?
My '74 may be one of the earliest made with a chassis build date of December '73 and a Barth build date of May '74. I suppose we might be able to contact Chevy and see when they shipped the first cut away chassis to Barth.

Have you ever been to America Tim? Sure is a long way to travel to get a Barth. I do have a skype friend that has a Foretravel (Some Other Brand as in SOB) in Australia. It came from the USA. The Foretravel was also converted to right hand drive.
What ever you purchase keep us informed. It is surprising to know the costs involved with transporting and importing a rig like you purvey.

My '74 Class C was purchased new by a man named John J Jones from Punta Gorda, Florida. I have some of the original sales papers and discovered that Mr. Jones was a member of the Barth Rangers and included in the papers was an old Barth Rangers newsletter. In trying to find Mr. Jones, I have discovered that there is a John J Jones living in Sunset City, Florida, formerly of Punta Gorda. Mr. Jones is 104. Wouldn't it be a blast if I actually talk to him?

No, I've never been to America I'm not so fond of flying
but I would like to get over there.
The problem in Denmark is with a passenger car driver's license, you must drive a maximum of GVWR at 7716lb otherwise you must take a driver's license for a small truck that easily costs 5000$.A class C Barth like Jim's weighs 8900lb but you can weigh it down to 7716lb so I do not have to take a new driving license. Most us camper weighs much more and can not be weighed down as the Curb weight exceeds 7716lb
I still hope I can persuade Jim to sell me his fine class C. Smiler
