I was just informed of the passing of one of our long time site members, Lou Thierwechter. Lou was longtime resident of Allegan, Michigan who had recently moved to Manistee, Michigan.

Lou and his dear wife Barb hosted and attended numerous Barth GTG activities. He entertained us with his piano music and kind words for all. I will miss Lou.

Here is his obituary:

Rest in peace, kind soul. Frowner

We all get older every single day but losing a friend is always hard.

I’m not going to list our losses as a group but we have lost a bunch of good folks. We will mourn Lou along with the rest. Rest well Lou. Condolences to the family.

Rusty and I had the privilege of inspecting the Barth that Lou and Barb bought here in Georgia. It was a SUPER clean 33ft Breakaway. When Lou picked it up his first stop was the UBRVRAPE where he spent a couple of days learning all the sub-systems of the coach. On one of Mine and Donna's trips to Michigan we were guest of Lou and Barb's at their home.

You are right. A great person will be missed.

I met Lou at one of his numerous GTG's. I recall how proud he was of the community. He went to extreme effort and expense to assure we all enjoyed his town's amenities. I am certain the Allegan folks miss him dearly as well. Tipping my brim ...good man, Lou.
