Hi all my Barth friends! You may have noticed I've been delinquent in my norm of heavy posting and for this I'm sorry to have missed out on a lot of good discussion. It seems an appropriate time to give an update, but it's not exactly cheery news.

Cheri and I are not a couple anymore, although I believe we still want the best for each other. No need for sympathy notes, this was a conscious decision and just one of those things that happens. I suspect we'll both be better for it given some time. As always, I approach this as a tremendous opportunity to grow and reform my life for the better. This quest has taken me from Florida, to Seattle, to Asheville, NC in the last 6 months. In fact, Union Mills, NC is where I call home, for the next 10 months anyway.

I'm healthy, happy but temporarily without my beloved Wanderlodge. Cheri and I are adultly working towards a resolution where I expect to once again have my BB in my yard.

I hesitated to post this publicly, but you are all my good friends and I would take a year to let you know individually. My great hope is to be at the Florida gathering in Dec to utilize the therapeutic effects of a campfire and libations to get caught up with ya'll.

Now that I'm once again settled "sorta" permanently, I will try to be a more consistent participant.

Dear Corey, hoping for the best for both you and Cheri. Both are welcome to any Barth GTG, any time or place.

Corey,

I actually have been wondering about where you were the last 2 or 3 weeks. I had been thinking I had missed your energetic conversations and was worried that maybe you had been sick or something.

Glad to know you are back and hang in there

I'm glad to hear you are alive and well Corey. My best wishes to you for the future. You are a very level headed man so I know that whatever you decide to do will be well thought out. I hope we get to see you in December.

Thanks for welcoming me back everybody!! I've always considered the Barth gang as true friends and I know Cheri feels the same. Because I travel so extensively, you have been some of my most consistent pals throughout the years as we exist much on-line.

I'm looking forward to the next gathering and hope and can make Florida, but there are a few complications that need working out as you can imagine.

Thanks to all for being in my closest circle, you can't have enough good friends when the poop hits the proverbial fan.

My wife and I recently became unmarried but remain friends. We knew each other in highschool and were married 4 years.

My son has a place in Ware County GA on 5 acres and it was built with a two room 1000 sq ft office with half bath. I lived in the Barth (already had a concrete pad, utility power and 200 amp meter) big carport cover, etc so it has served me well. I have added more plumbing, hot water, a kitchenette, repainted, new screens and blinds, locks etc. Last project is to add a shower and will get that done next week. It is nice and quiet here, we have a 3/4 acre pond and next door are two 30 acre manmade lakes. Lots of open space in that direction.

My cats like it.

For quite a while I also lived in my RV until I moved here to NC. My friends called me an RV husband. My Wanderlodge sure did make the transition easier as I could be in familiar surroundings during a difficult transition.

I'm pretty familiar with the area between Rutherfordton and I 40. Nice. We are originally from Charlotte and used to go up 221 taking the kids to camp in the summer. East Tennessee is nice but if I had my choice, I'd stay in the N.C. mountains around Boone in the summer and Florida in the winter. Have to win the lottery first.

Cool that you know this place. I'm just off 221 in Union Mills. It's quite rural, but we're in a gated community of log homes on big lots.
