curious what year it might be , the headlights look to be similar to 1971 , it is definitely a pre 73 because of the windshield being the shorter ones .Any suggestions ???

Vin looks like CPE372J114918
C=Chevrolet, P=forward cab, E=V8 engine, 3=1 ton, 7=motorhome chassis, 2=1972, J=Janesville, (ser#)=114918

Likely a 1972 Barth coach. Hard to find those short windshields...

Good luck with your coach.

In our new COVID “home time” I have seen a resurgence in restoring and operating the old cab over trucks. There are at least two YouTube channels of people who are rescuing these trucks and they are scouring junk yards and barns and many, though not ready for the road, seem to have very good windshields. Perhaps they may have found stocks of what are needed for our Barth’s. See: Gentry & Son for one family doing this.

The windshields Barth used from late 72 on were the same as the cab over truck models. DW730 and DW731 are still available new.

The earlier short Barth windshields are very rare. To my knowlege, we do not know any other OEM application they were used for.

None of the glass companies seem to be able to help much... I guess that was too long before fiche and computers.

I've got a late 72 (73) 25 footer and have looked high and low for the "donor" windshields. Here's a picture of the vehicle that I believe the windshield came from. Haven't done much research to try and locate. Early 70's Western Star cabover.

I have a passenger side windshield original from 72. The drivers side broke when I set it down in the grass. It had a stone chip and it broke from there.

I saved for someone to use as they are priceless. I will not ship.

Dana will not ship the windscreen, but he will send it down the Mississippi river, similar to the flood waters he sends to Iowa......
