Thought we needed something fun for a new toad.
I had this ranger sitting in the corner and too much time off.

The bed has been bobbed 1'2".
The front fenders raised 3".
The windshield frame replaced with one from a jeep wrangler.
The roll cage is finished.

The Toad will have 30" BFG's. A wrangler safari top. So far undetermined paint job.

The doors welded to smooth out the transition.

Very nice. I should think the paint could have something to do with what is pulling it... but I don't know how you go about shining up that steel.

Now you got me cranked for a toad... nono

I'm holding out for a VW microbus painted to match the coach. Barth and miniBarth!

I need a nice barn with space to work. (I approve of the nice recliner.. sometimes you need to contemplate the progress of the project!)

Well the recliner gets plenty of use.

The ranger was painted red because I had leftover paint from another project.

We loaded up and took a little test drive.

There are some bugs to work out. I'm also getting a top made.

Hopefully this will be done sone.

Wow! Nice lookin project! Right now you've got more time and energy than me, it seems. Thumbs Up

I've been cutting firewood for several days, but I did get new front tires on Barth. Also working on 12v air compressor system for Barth and replacing all the corroded Chicago locks on the storage compartments.

We're planning a trip to Denver area in early Oct, must be ready! Smiler

The stock ranger 2wd 4 banger short bed weighs 2988 lbs.
This one is closer to 2750 lbs.
It was getting 28 mpg before. Sure would like to see it get 30 now.
I've never seen a diesel in a ranger. Did he put it in there?
I start working in Denver near the zoo the first of October. I'm hoping to have this as daily driver.

Progress.
I did a roll on bed liner by duplicolor. It seems to be okay. Mounted the spare tire and tool box.

Put on some 235/75/15's. Almost 30's by Michelin.

Because of the bigger tires I replaced the 3.73 geared 7.5 with 9" brakes. The new rear is an 8.8 with 4.10's and 10" brakes.
Of course 6x9 speakers replace the dinky factory ones. And finally for me cruise control was added for the next 100,000 miles.
I,ve been working on the top to get more head room. I still need to fab the window frames and go to upholsterer.
