We just bought a 1974 C class yesterday, drove it 2 hours home in a snowstorm. We have zero RV experience and no mechanical knowledge. Should be fun.

Welcome, Being 1 of few that have a C class just to let know that you have a well built coach. Our drives nice and gets 10+ mpg. If you can locate the Data Tag that is located above the driver door it will have the length of coach. They did not build many C's. Keep us informed. Good luck

Ian and Lynette!
I am excited for you! Just remember, the upkeep and maintenance are only matters of details, and the details are simple. Sometimes it can seem that there are too many, but just prioritize and organize. I would guess you have a Chevrolet chassis, maybe a 1 ton, and parts will be plentiful. Maybe you have a 350 engine, and this is very well understood by the motor enthusiast world.

If you have no mechanical knowledge, go to a store like Lowes and buy one of the Craftsman tool kits, with hundreds of sockets, ratchets, and wrenches in it. Make sure you have good tires, and check the "tire date" even if the tread looks good.

No doubt you'll have some of your grandest experiences with the use of that Barth.

Happy Motoring!
Matt

When will I be able to view public profiles, and be able to send PMs? Not sure what the normal timeframe is for that.

I think when you have 10 posts you get more site privileges. Bill NY, the site's operator, takes care of these things.

OK, thanks. Did not see that anywhere. It is surprising that seeing someone's 'public' profile is a privilege, though.
As a new owner, I guess I am a bit impatient to talk to folks.

I think the problem has to do with non member hacker types who are phishing for email addresses, etc. We have a constant problem with "new members" who appear on the site and promptly flood us with unrelated spam sites etc. A sad commentary on the state of the internet.

Our site operators see these types of activities on a regular basis. Members are encouraged to flag these posts and they are usually promptly removed.

Welcome aboard! You will find so many helpful, interesting and amazing people here.

In terms of scammers looking for emails and phone numbers, that seems to be a growing trend. I prefer private messages. Shout out to Kevin for lots of technical help with the site. You will amazed by the references and help provided. The folks here are absolutely amazing! Congrats on your new journey.
