A suggestion: Let's all chip in and pay for a site where Rusty would have been, right in the middle of where we're going to be at Rusty's Memorial GTG. We'll leave it empty for the "missing man" and his pooches. We can make it our (Keeney space) center of operations and do our toasts there, perhaps a nice campfire once or twice, an auction, etc..

Hey Stinky/Daddy,

What about a memorial sign we can attach to the outside of our RVs as we descend on Goshen, IN, and we can then get wires to stick them in the ground on Rusty's old site....

It would be neat if it had some kind of greeting such as "Remembering Rusty and his doggies" and an "author spot" (from __________)
where we could write in our Barth names. Thinking of something that looks like a yard sign politicians use (but less political, of course!). And it should be smaller so we can mail them out ahead of time. These signs would then become keepsakes for us to take home.

Perhaps you could design something and get a total price to include mailing so we can order them from you. Send me the signs and some bucks to cover the mailing and I'll be glad to do the work of sending them out.

Lou

I've PM'd Richard Muise to contact the fairgrounds with Rusty's last campsite at Elkhart so he can reserve it. Hope we can get the same area and get Rusty's site situated somewhere near the middle of all the commotion.

Just received this email from Diane, Rusty's sister. Rusty's father, also a career sailor is also buried there.

Good morning all,
Just wanted to let everyone know that Rusty's memorial service will be:

Leavenworth National Cemetery
Friday, April 26, at 12:30 cst

A link to the website for further information: https://www.cem.va.gov/cems/nchp/leavenworth.asp

Please feel free to share this information. I know Rusty has some fellow Barth folks that wanted to know.

Thank you all for your sympathies and condolences.

What a way to come back to Barthmoblie.com after a long period of travel in other RVs. We are so sad to hear of the passing of Rusty, The Capitan was such a strong supporter of Barths. The passing of a sister in law a brother in law and Audreys last remaining Aunt in Minn all within the last month has just drawn us back to the site. We have chased and found good in Arizona and did 21 days in Utah in rental RV

I bought this at a garage sale the other day. I just got around to bolting it to the bench.

I had to pause a moment as I completed the the job. Looking at it, it is obviously fairly old, well used but lots of service left. A simple, rugged, reliable and trustworthy tool, it will never let go, and will always help get the job done. Nothing fancy, nothing that notable about it, solid. Some are larger, some are smaller, some are newer, some are older. This one has worked all its life and it is rusty….

What makes this vise special is where it came from. The garage sale was in Georgia at Nick’s place. He was selling off odds and ends he had helped rescue from Rusty’s house in Florida.

So you see, it is old, well used, rugged, simple and reliable, and it will help me get more jobs done. I will use it regularly.

I will never paint it, because it is... RUSTY.
I will think of him every time I use it.
This is my Rusty memorial.

I meant to share these thoughts at the GTG but this way we can all think about it. Farewell Captain, from "Liz's driver" Salute
