We will be staying in Naples for one week in March 2113, and would appreciate any suggestions about RV parks. Need full hookups, cable tv, wi-fi, nice showers. 28' Regal with car dolly/toad. Thanks

March in Florida is pretty busy. One of my teachers taught me an old saying. "Those that fail to plan, plan to fail". Just makes life easier. We live near the Smokies and every weekend in October, many of the nicer spots in the campgrounds have been filled for months. One of our favorite places in Florida is Siesta Key and you have to book in the summer for the winter months. It's on the Gulf and very popular.

I agree with your teacher, but you have March 2113 as your date.

Jim/Tere: When I lived in Tennessee you threatened you would stop and pay a visit on your way to see the kids. You never made it. Now that I'm back in Florida and only thirty miles north of Naples (I-75 Exit 143),try again. Betty says she is tired of the picture she took of you in front of your Barth (Chattanooga GTG) She thinks a new photo with palm trees would improve your Avatar..............................

My apology if you thought I was being a smart aleck, that was my stab at humor.

I have made the same mistake in a conversation with Nick and Rusty except I was behind a couple of years and they had fun teasing me. It is a great trait to laugh at ourselves, not take things too seriously and have fun because we only get to go through life once.

Carl, we'll be sure to stop and see you on the way to Naples or on the way back to Sarasota. (Who knows what we'll be driving?) Don't know our dates yet but will PM you as soon as I do. Thanks for the invite. Let's see, I will be coming up on 175 years old and Tere will be right behind me at 155. Thumbs Up

I may be too old to work on Barth by then but I'll plan to attend! (I'm sure it will still be running OK, after all it IS a Barth) Thumbs Up

We just hauled my Dad's 38 ft wooden boat out for the winter. It was built in 1927... We've had it since 1963. It will surely see 100!

WOW!
What boat has owned your family for so long, a Chris Craft?
Have you visited this school?

The Le Cheneau Islands area is the last struggling holdout for wooden boats. There is an old boat show there every summer in Hessel.

I was 10 years old when we got that boat and it was in rough shape. Many years of work and many improvements later it is almost timeless. (85 hp 371 GM diesel... 3.5 gallons/hr @ 10 mph) Thumbs Up
