tire poll..
In my search for tires, thought I'd go with FMCA's deal on 255/80R 22.5 XZE tires..In checking with various dealers, that size ( Michelin product # 94390 ) seems to be on extreme back order. I'm now looking at Toyo's or Bridgestones in the 265/75R 22.5 size.. other brands..?

Anyone bought tires recently in these sizes..? for 7.5 " wheel width..

tire choices.. this size is on my data plate
Micheline 255/80R 22.5 XZE
or replace with..(all seem to have same specs/ratings)
Toyo 265/75R 22.5 M154
Bridgestone 265/75R 22.5 R268 Ecopia

I bought CONTINENTALs for much less than MICHELINs would have been through the FMCA program.

I’ll leave it up to the reader to figure out what the abbreviation might represent Confused

Continentals are more expensive than Michelins w/FMCA and don't offer my size.. I suppose you meant you got yours outside of FMCA's tire plan, right?

Everything seems cheaper than Michelins anywhere..,

Just trying to figure whether other brands/sizes at the 265/75R 22.5 will fit without rubbing and 'kissing ' duals..

I never had good luck with Bridgestone tires. I have used Michelin, Goodyear, and Bridgestone.

I now have Toyo on the front and they seem to be quite good although they have a bit of singing noise at speed. Wear seems to be even as was not the case with Bridgestones. Bridgestone tires also seemed to have a bit more wonder then others.

Again these are 19.5 tires, I have racked up over 200K miles since owning my Breakaway (283K total now) in the last 11 years. I am also very familiar with alignment procedures and check each trip or annually for any changes in toe or suspension components.

Correct — direct from a SE Michigan truck tire place. To get a good price, I had to cite what I knew another Foretravel owner had paid to the same business

For the benefit of our members around the world FMCA is Family Motor Coach Association. Soon to be Know Family Recreational Vehicle Association. FMCA has recently decided to permit Recreational vehicles like bumper pull campers and 5th wheel campers to join.
The FMCA tire advantage extends a service to members to purchase tires for most any road vehicle at a reduced price. I am not sure if this price reduction is available in other countries. Presently I think the discount is available in us and Canada. Sometimes shopping around you can get a better price by leveraging this option with your tire dealer.

Mogan, for the benefit of all the members to get a good price let us know the price stated to the dealer. I am sure Mike W. could try for the discount in California.

upon further checking and lots of research, I'm going to go with Toyo's all the way around.. (Michelin on long backorder and big bucks..)
M154 265/75R-22.5. part# 548760
Ply G 14ply
UTQG (?) 0
Max load 5203 lbs
inflation 110 psi
tread depth 19/32nds
rim width 7.5-8.25
sect. width 10"
tread width n/a
overall width 38"
speed rating 75mph (L)
minimum duals spacing 11.3"
revs per mile: 540
cost Simple tire (free shipping ) $381.44 x 6 =$2288.64 + ?
plus 10-15% off from Simple tire.. (dated offering coupon)

Michelin 255/80R 22.5 part# 94390
same as above x tread depth 20/32NDS & 39" OD
minimum duals spacing 11.3"

see any concerns here? 1" shorter height & width same..
shouldn't be any duals spacing problems correct?

Also want to talk about balancing so will put this link in to transfer to another thread re: Centramatic Wheel balancers...

Although I am stilling looking I also found Simple Tire and Discount Tire to have the widest selection and best price. I need 16 inch, not the 19, 19.5 or the fearsome 22.5 rims cost, thank goodness.

I can not make up my mind if I want to get the cheap far eastern brands or spend the extra and get a brand with a better reputation.

I know I will probably never put on enough miles to wear them out before age says to replace them, so I am only worried the cheaper tires are not going to hold up.

Opinions welcome!!!

Duane, now that I see you have 16’s, I agree with shopping at Discount TIRE. They have been GREAT for me. So has Sam’s Club. Based on MANY problems heavy class B owners have had, DO NOT get Hankook!
There is a LOT of weight on your fairly small wheels. So, I’d stick with Michelin, Goodyear, Bridgestone or BF Goodrich. When I said Conti, I was thinking 22.5”.
There are often mfr. price specials on the brands I named, through the dealers I named.

I just recently put 6 new TOYO M154 245/75R 22.5 tires on our 1992 Breakaway and could not be happier about the choice. I replaced Michelins that had date limited out although there was lots of tread left. The outside diameter was almost identical and on a recent trip I noticed that the speed indication was the same as before for the RPM in 5th speed. The 265/R75 has a larger diameter. I know this because one of the six tires was a 265 and I did not notice it until I got the rig home and noticed that the inner tire on the curb side was off the ground because the 265 was mounted on the outside of that pair.

Total cost was a bit over $2,100 out the door. I bought them from a local TOYO dealer who had to order them from the warehouse.

BTW, there are websites where you can enter your tire sizes and compare the dimensions, etc.

Also, I run 70 psi all around and the wear is flat across the tire.

ordered my Toyo's from Simple Tire..
talked to a Kristin Nyce @ 267-314-6737 (direct #) . Great to work with, even checked , for me, re: DOT tire dates, oldest was 11 months and others were newer.

Size is 265/75R 22.5 G rating ( 14 ply )
Total Cost for 6 Toyo M154's came to $2041.76 including Fed Excise Tax..included also was a 15% discount..! Shipping free to my mechanic..

Also bought 4 Centramatic Balancers (22.5 Wheels)
800-523-8473
FRONT SET OF 2 PART NUMBER 800-820 $199.00
DRIVE SET OF 2 PART NUMBER 600-640 $215.00
total was $465.33 w/ tax and shipping..

in addition, although not a guide for Toyo's, came across this brochure from Goodyear (first alerted by a 2006 post by BillH) on truck tire care..

Mike can I ask why you did the 800-820? instead of the 600-630? What was the determining factor to go with them as they are listed as Drum Fitment Problem alternative to the 600-630.

Thanks Mike just wondered if I missed something.
They are on my list before I replace my drive tires. Looking at some tires. 4 more years till we can put in more time on the road.

11R-22.5 is what Midnight takes. Michelin 4 tires out the door $2651.82 confusion from my local guy. Samson $975 out the door from a place 60 miles away. I am going back to my guy to see if he can get them. I don't need a 200,000 mile tire. Currently doing 2 to 3 thousand a year. They will age out before they wear out even when we go full time.
