If you stay at Starved Rock , just off I-80, plan on eating at the lodge. It maybe a state park but food is good , there is a small boat dock/ shipyard across the river even with the dam that has a small restaraunt on the upper level that is fun to go too , sit out on the screen porch and eat and watch the houseboats go by. If you are going across in middle of the state try the Corp of Eng. campgrounds on Lake Shelybyville ( just north of I-70) JKB All who wander are not lost Smiler
