Rusty, hope there is nothing serious. I know that no shop is going to pull the wool over YOUR eyes. If you must be there a while, go into town and eat at Boone Tavern Inn. not what it used to be decades ago, but a very nice restaurant none the less.

Next time you are in Blytheville swing into the center of town and check out the old 1939 restored Greyhound bus depot that they are making into a museum and info center. They held a bus rally there last year that was quite the deal. Place looked really good at night with the neon lighting and an antique bus parked on each side of it.

Tom & Nancy Johns stopped by at the RV park to say "hi" this morning!

The shop I'm parked at is letting me stay in the yard so the engine won't be hot when they start on it.

We made it to a WalMart Neighborhood Market in south Indy this evening. Does not look like a great area but we are armed and fabulous! We are 3 hours 17 minutes from Elkhart County Fairgrounds. Rusty, hope everything goes as planned and we see you soon.

Thanks, Billy! We weren't able to determine whether the leak was in the hose, fitting, or the radiator shell, so I decided to go with an external, fan-equipped tranny cooler. It'll be here first thing tomorrow. The tech also found a cause for the chronic belt failures - the crank pulley has a rubber insert which is deteriorated. That'll also be replaced.

Should be there Thursday.

Good thing they found the bad damper. But, I'm sorry your trip is more costly than expected.

Thanks, but it'll be a minor expense compared to the discomfort and irritation of replacing belts on the shoulder. Thumbs Up

Houston, we have a problem...

I pulled Barth out to finish packing, checking a few last things. The radiator is leaking coolant! confusion
It was fine when we returned from Florida in mid April. The weather has been so cold I have not moved it since then. I wish I had checked sooner.

Two years ago when I replaced the crankshaft I had the radiator re-cored (for $500) to prevent this sort of thing, only lasted 2 years. Looks like I wasted my money (no good intention goes unpunished...) head bang

This is not good. I will inspect more carefully when it cools down but I think the end cap seam is leaking.

I was not able to locate a new radiator locally last time. The trans cooler, oil cooler and heater return hose nipple and esp. the forward facing filler tube make this a custom P30 radiator. That's why I re-cored last time, couldn't find an identical replacement.

I'm afraid I won't be able to get it done in time for Milford this weekend... wack

More to follow...
