Would some of you experienced members list the locations of the nearest disel/gas stations and other conveniences near the a fairgrounds?

There's a Walmart Super Center on US 33 about 2 miles SE of the fairgrounds, and a Sam's Club ~5 miles NW, also on US 33.

There are a couple of decent restaurants near the Walmart, and one mediocre Chinese restaurant across US 33. There are plenty of fuel stops, but most post the price for non-taxable off-road diesel.

We're getting close now! I had planned to do some more projects before Milford...

Some stats: April was the 4th wettest on record, 14 degrees on April 20. Below average temps prevail. One day the first week of May we hit 70 degrees, the first time since Oct 12. Friday morning May 16 it snowed...
Today we got 67 degrees! head bang

Our little lake was ice covered until April 26th. The next day we had a strong wind and it cleared out. Within 24 hours we saw Canada geese, swans, buffleheads, mergansers, mallards, loons and kingfishers. The swallows returned the following week, 3 weeks late. Grosbeaks, orioles, hummingbirds and numerous other birds swarmed the feeders on the delayed migrations. Stubborn spring....
(Lake Superior is still 15% ice covered...)

Hope it warms up by Milford! Thumbs Up Tooling Along

"A walk of a thousand miles begins with a single step". Actually, the walk is only about 100 feet to the Barth, then we're on the road for Milford III, with a layover at UBRVRAPE II, underway from there Monday for a two-day run to Goshen. Tooling Along

Yes similar thing with me! 20 foot walk to the Barth, but 14 days and 3500 miles later I am getting closer to the GTG! Will be in Antioch IL in a few hours, Tomorrow I will leave for Howell MI and Wednesday I will go to Goshen. Got a few things to fix but no show stoppers. Just rolled over 214K miles, by the time I get to the GTG it will be over 215K miles.

I personally have driven the Breakaway for 140K miles since acquiring it.

While discussing Milford, the subject of the dining tent surfaced. I realized I do not know where or who the tent came from. hmm

I'm thinking it was Sloop John who brought it. Anyone remember?

If it is available, we would like to use it again, if not I will arrange to rent one locally.

If anyone knows please let me know ASAP. I will be leaving Thursday morning. See you soon. Thumbs Up

Good morning; just tried to post to chat room but may be in the wrong time frame. I spoke with Kay McCluskey this a.m. about the trip to Goshen next week. It's first time for us to attend so were hoping for a few more details - didn't someone mention earlier about mailing info to those not on the internet? We know about the white elephant and a potluck supper, but not much else. Will check AAA for maps and info about any detours, etc. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Cindy and I plan on being at the campground on Tuesday. I am hoping that someone will bring a rivet gun with them as I am missing a few rivets. I would appreciate someone with experience to show me how it is done.

Can this event be a 24hour live online streaming??

...all you would need is a couple of cameras
set up to show the most advantageous areas,
and a computer with a internet connection and a
site to log onto and those from away can join in...??

Braley, the route I recommend is to take the turnpike there to Exit 1, then north a couple hundred yards to US 20 westbound to SR 13 south to SR 4 west to US 33 south to CR 34 east.

Just to let you folks know, the other day when we went to the fairgrounds we found that they have one of the roads torn up and at that time it was one way traffic on it going in and you had to take a detour back out. By this time it could be the same or reversed.....it might even be done but i doubt it, it looked like they were doing major work. I think it was Monroe St. off of 33.
