A Barth Caravan would be good, but I don't know of anyone that is coming from my direction. I am in the north west corner of Tennessee.

Usually go to Louisville, Indianapolis and then to Milford.

My plan is to either go Memphis to Indy or do the Natchez Trace again north through Indy.

I've also travelled the Trace's southern section, from Mathiston (US 82) to the terminus in Natchez.

I highly recommend a stop at the Council House Cafe, about 100 yards E. of the Trace on SR 407/413. Its Cajun roast beef sandwiches and broccoli are exceptional (as is all its menu). When I go to the Mid-South Star Gaze (about a mile from the Council House), I load up with food for the duration.

The attached little general store sells excellent jams, jellies, and other locally-made condiments.

There's a Walmart Super Center (6AM-11PM, a rare non-24 hour store) less than a mile off the Trace in Kosciusko (birthplace of Oprah) on SR 35, Veterans Memorial Drive. An excellent commercial tire center, Meggs (f/k/a Edwards) is another 1/2 mile further west.

Hey Tom, I will be in Houston are May 17 for the Houston 1/2 mile and probably be heading to the GTG from there. I haven't decided whether to visit my brother in South Eastern MI before or after the GTG.

Certainly if you will be in the Houston area mid May we can hoop up then. The Houston 1/2 mile event will be held at Ellingtion.

Sometimes it is not the size of your fuel tank but the bladder of the driver that determines the "range".
