Since the star party in Indiana I planned to attend in July has been cancelled, I'm giving some thought to going to the NE GTG.

I don't see a "Large Safari Field"; is that McLeod Field?

Hi Rusty,
Yes the large safari field is McLeod Field. When I called to reserve was told that the Barth group has sites 1-8 on McLeod Field. We opted for a W/E/S site so went with #12 which is just across the "street" When I made our reservation at beginning of week site #11 was still available also.
It would be great to see you again.

We are next door with full hookups at site 11. Will consult with the group about the pot luck when we have our numbers down.
Looking forward to it.

Georgene and I will be in site 7. I have spoken to the campground and moved us around to get everyone closer together. There should be at least four Barths attending, possibly five if Rusty shows up. Sites 9 and 10 have already been reserved by other campers.

I'll post on the pot-luck meal, etc. in early July.

Looking forward to meeting new members of the Barth family.

Add our friend Deborah (not Debbie) Bede the list of dignitaries attending the NE gathering. Deborah will be coming with her fully restored 195? 6 maybe, Airstream Bubble. It's quite a treat to see as Deborah has done an extensive off frame restoration/retro-ration to the little 16' tin can.

Also notable is that Deborah is one of the country's leading experts in old fabric restoration. I've seen everything from vintage flags to Salvador Dalis go through her shop here in NH. I hope you all welcome her, even if she isn't showing up in a Barth!!

It's looking very much like I may be able to make the NE GTG. I'll be at the Mason-Dixon Star Party near York, PA, 7/22-26, then to visit some relatives in Sout' Joisey through about the 27th or 28th.

Too bad Bill N Y will be out-of-town; I could swing by RDR RV Park and we could convoy.

I'll have to see if my cat-sitter will be available.

It's looking more like I'll be at the NE GTG; another dear friend in Nort' Joisey invited me up for a couple of days...still need an answer from my cat sitter, who is out of town at the moment.

Hi everyone,

Rusty, it will be nice to see you, hope you and your cat sitter can work things out.

This NE "Get Together" has a tradition of a Saturday evening "Pot Luck" meal. It is a nice way to bring everyone together for food and conversation. We also bring snacks to share around the campfire in the evenings.

Georgene and I will provide a big garden salad for the pot luck meal and will also make a main dish of sausage and meatballs in sauce along with dinner rolls. I will also make a dessert for after the meal.

I mention the food as a way of helping others make decisions as to what they would like to bring and encourage you to post you choices as well. This helps in diversifying the dishes brought and makes for an interesting meal.

Beverages are BYO, but I will bring some wine selections for anyone interested.

We will be out of contact from July 16th thru July 26th. Our camp in Maine has no cell phone signal nor internet access. I'll be back online on Monday July 27th to help finalize any last minute issues.

Bill and Georgene

Well, the cat-sitter will be available. There's now about a 90% I can be there (possibility of a real-estate closing requiring me to be home, but that should be clear by the end of the week).

I can take #65 or 43, since the park has a dump station - I'll be near limits when I arrive, but I'm going for arrival 7/29 or 30.

I don't know how dark it'll be, but I'll have some of my better astrogear with me, and we can do some stargazing by videocam. If not, I've recorded several of the usual suspects (objects) over the last couple of months to demo a camera for a local club, and we could watch Videos of My Vacations! ROTFLMAO Sleeping

Rusty, when I went last year, we could see UFO's satellites streaking by. I was amazed at how clear it was. We watched, as a group for a very long time. After you book the site, let me know the number.

Rusty,
Still going to be in South Jersey on your venture? If so, when and where you going? If at all possible and your in the area, it would be great to meet up with you since you won't be doing the D.C. GTG.

I'll be in Galloway, NJ ~7/26-28, then to North Haledon, overnight there.

Where in NJ are you?

I made reservations to arrive 7/30 (Thursday) at Oak Haven.
