Hello fellow Barthers, I am the manager of a Motel and R.V. Park in Bonners Ferry Idaho. Bonners Ferry is located about 2 hours north of Coeur de Alene Idaho. There are 24 spaces, all but 5 have full hook-ups. One with partial, and 4 tent/dry spaces. Restrooms with hot showers, Fuel and propane within a half mile, and the largest grocery store in town is just across the street. As the Manager, I can reserve as many spaces as needed, even the whole park. The park runs in a large horseshoe shape, with some pull-through sites, and some pull, or back in. Will get pictures soon! Contact me with?? or for more info b4 next post. Thanks Dale

There are many things to see and do around Bonners Ferry, catering to all interests. The outdoors and nature are all around us up here. There is a wildlife refuge, golf course, several waterfalls, a Giant old growth cedar forest much like the California redwoods, The suspension bridge featured in the movie "A River Wild" that starred Glenn Close and Kevin Bacon, A ghost town with it's own old cemetary, and several other walks and hikes to take, there is even a Casino for people who like to gamble. All of these possible activities are within a 40 minute drive or less. I am also trying to find more things around the area all the time, so there may be more by the time this happens. I have personally been to most of these things/places, and know about them more than brochures or maps. A note about the weather. The seasons change quickly here. So, it could reach the 70s on a regular basis before the end of April, then be 80s and more last part of May through end of August. Though some years take a little longer to warm up that much. Hope this will provide a atart for ideas. Thanks Dale.

Here are some possible dates for a get together in Idaho this year. I don't know how people feel about the standard holidays coming up, but here goes. May 26,27,28,29 memorial day weekend, June is open for suggestions. July 1st is CANADA DAY for our northern friends, and also the beginning of Independence day weekend going through Tuesday the 4th. Or perhaps the 14,15,16 of July if anyone wants to Avoid the Crowds on the roads for the Holidays. August?? maybe
18,19, 20, 21? Suggestions and input will help narrow it down. What Plans have already been made for these times? Let me know What you think. Also, Working on more possible activities around here. Most all the stuff I mentioned last time is free, except the golf and Casino of course. Thought about having a nice BBQ one afternoon as well? Any thoughts?
Please contact me and let me know. The Sooner the better. I can reserve the spots early, and perhaps reserve a whole area with enough room for all. Have pictures of the park now, but covered with 4 inches of snow. Trees still are bare, Have a few people renting through winter. E-mail me if you would like to see. Thank you, and let's make this happen. Dale

We would be interested depending on the timing and that daily grind of a JOB that seems to get in the way of enjoying our Barth. But would luv to see other Barth's and their owners.

So far looking like July will be the best month, First weekend is both Canadian and U.S. Holiday. Weather is usually great at that time too. Just need to keep thinking about this, and keep moving to make it happen. Any interest in planning a day trip to see some of the area? A couple things I did not mention before are the Anheiser Bush hop fields nearby, and the sturgeon salmon hatchery down river. If These sound likie something you might like to see, I can look into more info, tours, and such. The suspension bridge, the Kootenai falls, and the large cedar grove is a trip that would take about a half day, The ghost town trip is more of a full day trip. Once you are there, you just want to see all of it. Again, most of the things listed are free to visit. Just trying to provide as many options as possible. Any ideas? Other times?
Questions? Let me know. Also, have photos of park, with snow, and bare and wet. If you want I can email them to you. Moving forward,
Dale

Is the cedar grove that you are talking about the Ross Creek Giant Cedars? We were there in the summer of 04, very impressive.... i used to cut cedar shake bolts to sell to the mill during winter layoffs long ago. Seeing those trees made me want to have a chainsaw in my hands,.....just joking.

Yes, they are the ones indeed. Great that someone else knows about them on this site, hopeful that many more will have the chance as well. The bridge and falls I mentioned are within 15 miles of these giant cedars. Did you get too see them? My mother used to cut shake bolts as well, and she said the same thing!!!Dale

The falls must be between Troy and Libby? We went back and forth a few times but did not stop....however we were up on top of the mountains on the north side looking down on that part of the river. We have friends in Troy that have a place right on the river where we stayed for a week. Have you been up to the Dirty Shame (bar/burger joint) up on the Yaak? One of our friends has a nice cabin up in that area. Over the years i have been to Troy 5 or 6 times....we like the area.

Getting ready for the spring season, and looking forward to any barth visitors here at the park. Have not yet had anyone reserve any space for July. Looks like this will be the best time for get together. Just need to know how many barthers want to make it happen. Of course, always like to see others and their coaches, welcome anytime, just need a heads up when. Sound good? Let's move forward with this
and perhaps start a NW annual event. Anyone have any ideas or input? Let's hear about them.

My wife and I are planning on attending if held mid-July. Don't know why we're not getting much response to this get together as it seemed like there were lots of Barths close enough to make it. Maybe everyone here in the nw (except us) is sitting beside their motorhome in the sun somewhere and not paying any attention to this. Hope it takes off..bob and jan

well, waited a while to see if anyone would respond. The wait is over, I guess there is not as much interest as first thought. However, I will be Here, and am always open to Fellow Barth owners stopping in for a time. Would hope that there is a chance that some would like to come over, even on their own. I will make it worth it for anyone who is interested. I just do no think that many people are. So, let me know or post if you would be interested in a visit here. Hope to hear more on this, we'll see. Dale -FLMTMR23@AOL.COM

Relative to interest in a rally. I am interested. I’m just not able to make the trip to Idaho this year. That’s a long drive from KY. If there was a rally a little closer to KY, then I’d probably be able to make it.
