It keeps raining here in Ohio. If we did not send the water down the river we would be flooded here. Better the The Mississippi river than the Ohio river flooding. Well at least better for us Ohioan's. It really does not seem like a big deal according do this article Here is a quote from the Tam Sawyer RV website. It has happened before.

here along with another link on flood stage chart.

My feeling is it will be dry as a popcorn fart by the Memorial day Barth get together. Keep your fingers crossed. The above information is found here along with another link on flood stage chart.

The uncertainty is mainly whether the park can be restored in 3-4 days.

At this time I am having trouble sharing any optimism. The forecast is for the river to not drop to below 30 feet until a couple of days before the GTG. I think alternate plans need to be made NOW. Mary, can you check on other availability. If not we may need to reschedule.

There are a lot of sites, mostly south of Memphis; the few to the SW are mostly affiliated with casinos. There are another 6 or so S of Memphis off I-55.

All this is based on an older app.

Maybe a bit too far but last year I stayed at Lake Tiak O Khata near Louisville Mississippi. It is about three hours south of Memphis but it is on a private lake, has nice rv spaces, some 30 and some 50 amp, a full service restaurant (which served fresh catfish and fried chicken), but a full menu, has hotel rooms for their conventions and meeings, and was the same price as Tom Sawyers. I have not checked availability or anything, but I can recommend it. Just google them.

I have checked several campground locations. All the places I have checked are booked for the holiday weekend. Many places have openings during the week after. Could there be a chance to move this Barth Event to another upcoming holiday?

I did not invite the turd fairy. An earlier post I found noted this campground near where Barth Caches were made.

I have checked a few of my favorite places to camp and they are all booked for that weekend. There are two left to check one in the city of Memphis and one about 12 miles from my house.

Will post what I find out tomorrow.

The other alternative is to stay at Tom Sawyer the following weekend. I know there will be problems either choice that we make.

The sad news is there are no available openings for the Memorial Day weekend at any of the NUMEROUS places that I have called.

I am open for suggestions.

I have 17 sites reserved in Memphis at the Agricenter RV Park.

If each person would send me the length of coach, 50 or 30 amp, date of arrival and departure I will contact the reservation person by email to confirm. This would need to be sent to me by tomorrow.

Mary, Does this mean we are definitely pulling the plug on Tom Sawyer? I truly believe it will be open and running well by the time we show up. But.... if we are going to move my coach is 32 feet and we need 50 amp. We plan to arrive on 25 May and leave on 30 May for a total of 5 nights. Thanks!
