Come on folks. Time is getting close and spring is in the air. You really don't want to miss out on the fun.

If you would like to add even more to this trip, come meet us on the Natchez Trace and we will travel to the GTG as a group and have fun along the way.

Tom and Nancy Johns are going to travel the Natchez Trace from it's beginning in Nashville, TN to the end in Natchez, MS. Rusty and Donna and I are going to meet them in Tupelo, MS (some famous rock and roller was born there) on Sunday, May 1 and travel the next day to Natchez. Tuesday, May 3, we will travel from Natchez to Breaux Bridge.

Here are the RV parks we plan on staying. These will be fairly short travel days and will allow plenty of time for sightseeing and evening socials (adult beverages optional).

Sunday Night May 1
NATCHEZ TRACE RV (Private) mile post 251.6
662-767-8609
Electric, water, sewer hookups, dump station, laundry. Pool, fee area, tent camping; 32 sites - Adjacent to Parkway on CR 506. Pull-thru & Back-in sites.

Monday Night May 2
NATCHEZ STATE PARK mile post 8.1
601-442-2658
Electric, water, sewer hookups, dump station, showers, fee area; 50 sites - 1 mile east of Parkway on US 61. Pull-thru & Back-in sites.

Tom, have a number on how many have signed up so far? Helen wants to know if she is still on for crawfish etoufee' for one of the meals. If the cold weather ever ends, we (THE LOCALS) should have some very nice crawfish to boil, therefore, we will eat well, over and over again! FYI, don't fret over adult beverages, this is Louisiana, we buy whiskey at gas stations!

From personal experience, having traveled the Natchez Trace many times since 1989 and even written and having had an article published about it, I have but one piece of advice, take your time and enjoy the pull-outs and scenic walks. Of course that takes a week to do right. Don't forget about the free camping on The Trace!

Tom and Nancy Johns, Nick and Donna Cagle, and I are meeting at an RV park just S of Tupelo Sunday, then down the Trace to a park at the end, then on to Breaux Bridge.

Certainly planning on lunch at the Council House in French Camp.

Billy T, only 7 coaches so far but it is early. We would love to be able to get ahold of the members in Miss, Tx and Al. Should be a close one for them. Helen had better cook for us, I bet I can find some big ole daddys for her. Looking forward to seeing you all. Tom and Nancy

I duno if you all have ever been to Natchez SP but it is a gorgeous place. At one time it was the most-neglected park in the MS SP System but is really nice now. The new section is a complete up-to-date park but the original sites are rustic. Great fishing if you are inclined to do so.
