OH. 1993 Widebody Regency 34'
COACH IS SOLD 3/24/09

1993 Widebody Regency 34'

Hi,

A friend of mine just passed and his widow is trying to sell his coach.

It is a 1993 34 ft with every option. The coach has been housed inside since born and only has 6100 miles on it.

I have no idea how to help her sell it as I can't find anyplace to give me an average selling price.

Any help would be appreciated as I only know buses.

Thanks,
Ed

ed, value of a 93 Barth could easily vary by $20,000 or more. What model is it? Regency, Breakaway, Regal. How is it equipped, Even in a Regency there is substantial difference between the 250hp and 300hp engines. If possible find the data tag number and post it. It will go along way towards helping establishing a value.

Just checked ed's profile and coach info and data tag are listed:
9304-0166-34RS-1C

Regency, 34 foot, Spartan Chassis, Cummins,
Base value 250hp Low retail $30,400 Average retail $36,620
Base value 300hp Low retail $31,760 Average retail $38,260

Based on other tags from other Regencies, the engine is probably a 300hp Cummins 8.3L
These are from NADA and the current market maybe less.

I'm interested in purchasing a Barth. Could you give me more details and/or a contact number of the owner? Thanks in advance.

Hey Nick - It looks like there was six months time between my coach(# 0164), (10-92) and this one (0166),(04-93). That suggests they did not sell any Regencies for a while in 92-93.

When looking at the value of the 93 Regency that is the subject of this thread, I noticed that the original selling prices and current values of the last Barths is substantially less than the earlier models. Barth must have taken a lot of the cost out of the coach to have been able to so drastically reduce the price. The following is from current NADA website

The price on this one would be both helped and diminished by its situation.

    1. 34's are rare.
    2. It's been garaged
    3. It's been sitting and sitting. Little good can come of that for two reasons, a. A lot of things deteriorate without being used, such as all drivetrain seals, reefer, A/Cs (engine and roof), brake parts, tires, fuel system, and b. The coach not having been used, the owner wouldn't discover what needed repair or maintenance.

Based on the few recent Barth sales I know about (and those that haven't happened), Nick's posted NADA price is likely the ceiling.

For the general buyer, this coach will be competing with Beavers, Bluebirds, Nationals, Hawkins, Safaris, and lesser motorhomes on price level, superficial interior features, and slideouts. Worse, there are limited financing options for coaches of that age, so it will take a cash buyer.

And the recent bankruptcies of Monaco (Beaver, Safari, Holiday Rambler, etc.), Bluebird, National, Country Coach, and Fleetwood is likely to suppress their prices.

I would recommend flexibility in looking at any offers that might come in.

    Bill,

Here are the pictures. At this time we are accepting offers and have 1 bid in the low 40's. This coach is basically new and I have all the build sheets / books for the coach. It has too many options to list but it is first class and no money was spared when built. I will have it in my shop this week-end to make sure everything is operating properly.

Please only put my email address in the ad.

In response to Rusty's concerns, this coach was driven very little but was always driven a few times a year. I agree the tires would be suspect, however, they rarely saw the sun and were treated with armor-all. He had the engine serviced every fall and there is not a leak anywhere on this coach.
I operated every system on the coach and everything works. This is going to make someone a great coach.
