15 year old orphaned motorhome

I would state that any RV out of warranty is "orphaned" then. Unless Spartan, Freightliner, Cummins, Cat, DD, etc. go out of business, a RV out of warranty is a collection of parts made by a myriad of manufacturers, some good, some not.

The only thing lasting then, is the quality of design and manufacture. In this category Barth has few rivals with only Newell, Prevost and a few others to list.

So, if this logic is on target, an individual is far better off paying way over book for a Barth than paying under book for an inferior design/construction.

While $35K for this unit might be a steal, it would still have been a great value at $60K versus buying a two year old stick and staple gas rig for the same money IMHO.

Value is relative! If you don't believe that, who refused to buy fuel when it doubled? The alternative was walking and that was a relatively less enticing option for most.

If I was looking for any coach in that size, I would have given $35,000 real fast if engine and trans checked out. If I did not have the coach I have now, I would have flown out to see that one. When Before I purchased the one I have now, I ried to see this one, but could not get things worked out to visit at that time. In my honest opion, that was a great buy. sky

Dear Members,
My wife and I just purchased Gary & Susan's MH. I did not view it in person, just went with impressions of the original quality of the Barth and the sellers thorough listing. I also was going to look at a couple of older models with the 3208 but I'm personally much more comfortable with the Cummins this 34 has.
I next day'ed a check today so Susan should probably remove the listing early next week - Not next day service to their corner of NM. I probably will have lots of questions to pose after we pick up the coach in Late March. I hope we can make the May Rally.
Best Regards from Northern Michigan
Alan

Patch1st --- I thought ALL Barth's are beautiful---

We are in Traverse City, hopefully the Barth will adapt to the temperature here in the snowy North.

Welcome Al,

Sounds like you do deserve your 100% rating after all!

We have a 34' too and love the size. I'm right with you on the Cummins too.

Corey

Yep, the check is in our bank account. You should try to make it to the rally. However, I did find that these coaches are SO custom that none of them are exactly the same. But as someone said in another post, as long as you have a good engine and transmission, and the quality of the Barth, you've got it made in the shade. Just a bit of trial and error and you'll be on your way!And as far as the Michigan winters, not sure, but the Northern New Mexico winters are nothing to scoff at. We're at 7K feet, and have snow on the ground right now. (but your Barth is safely tucked away in our barn)...actually TWO barns until we move that baby out. Smiler

So, Gary and Susan, what's next? I still remember and drool over the pictures of your winters on the beach.

Hi Alan, you are making us really regret selling Sugar. We were wondering how she was doing for you and apparently quite well! We are now getting the itch again and looking but can't find anything that compares to sugar. Have fun. Susie and Gary
