We leave tomorrow to spend the day at Half Moon Bay with our grown "kids" and then on Monday we head toward Nevada. We will be stopping at Sequoia Nat'l Park, King's Canyon, Red Rock Canyon and on into LV. We should be in LV on Thursday night and then Friday morning on up to Ely, NV. SSCC Race festivities start in LV on Thursday and then moves to Ely on Friday. Final tech session is on Saturday morning. We head down to our check point on Saturday afternoon and dry camp at the check point #5 which is about 77 miles south of Ely on Hwy 318. The SSCC starts at 6:00AM Sunday morning with road closure (Hwy 318) and the racing starts at 8:00AM. We leave the check point after the race and head back to LV for the awards banquet Sunday night. Home on Monday.

We were going to go on up to Canada after the race but will not do this until after the June race at Wendover NV, figured the weather would be better later. Will be a busy summer for us as I am working 7 races this summer, literally 1 a month. Barth miles going up!

We have wireless internet and will be able to read/post from most places except while at the check points because cell/wireless coverage is non-existent there.

Hi Ed, Anne and I flew into Vegas on the 1st and drove to LA, then to Sequoia, then to Yosemite, spent the night in Yosemite at Curry Village, slept in a tent, temp dropped into the 20's, snowed about 4 to 6 inches. Tioga road was closed. That was a very memorable experience. Had to come back home early for an emergency. Came back to Vegas on the 5th, like to never got motel and flight back out, because of the fight. Hope you enjoy your trip! sky

Hi Sky, yes we are having a good time, sorry to hear about your troubles thou! The weather for us has been fantastic! Tioga pass is now open (earlier then normal) and I would have gone over Tioga and on thru to Ely but wifey has friends in LV so we came here for a couple of days.

We head to Ely NV tomorrow morning and should be in the high country before it get to hot, we dry camp on BLM land South of Ely at my checkpoint Saturday night for the SSCC race on Sunday.

Heading back Home on Monday but will be in Wendover NV Jun 7 for another open road race event!
