Our longest trip yet! From Nanton, AB to Spokane, WA via Fernie, BC and Libby, MT, but returning thru Kalispell and Whitefish. No real issues with the Barth. Photo is from our first night, at Loon Lake just north of the Roosville border crossing. Got home today, will be winterizing tomorrow.

It is always good to have a smooth trip with no problems! Thumbs Up
It is nice to see pictures of Barths that are not parked in a driveway. Thanks!

I should mention an odd thing which happened to us on the way home. We random-camped in a Forestry area, under a powerline which was not ideal but adequate given the time of evening. During the night I got up and went outside for a pee, but when I was done I found that I was unable to open the door of the Barth to get back in, because of a strong electrical shock! I wrapped my hand in my underwear (all that I had on) so that I could pull the handle, and once inside it was okay.
I assume the ambient electricity around the powerline liked the all-metal construction of the Barth, and only its tires prevented a completed circuit to ground. My bare feet on the grass and my hand on the handle completed that circuit.
Lynnette had previously mentioned a sharp "ant-bite" on her toe when entering the Barth earlier; she was wearing open-toed shoes.

Sounds like you found another way to get power from those lines! I suspect you are right, the metal coach was isolated from ground and the electrical field from the lines was charging it up. Being right below the lines, with damp ground underneath, you are a lightning rod!

(Don't tell the power company, they will find a way to charge you for the power!) ROTFLMAO

Years ago one of the farming magazines had an article about farming under transmission lines. There was no conclusive health concerns but it offered a suggestion for warning, place a florescent tube in the cab and try to keep from lighting as little as possible. java

Check for a bad ground in your Barth. It might be a "hot skin" issue, not the powerlines.
