Possible Barth Journey...

It's kind of last minute but I was thinking about going to the Sept 9th race at Richmond Raceway. Does anyone have any recommendations for RV parking or has done this race?

There's a 5 year waiting list for "at the track parking". Most other RV parking is done at someone's house close by the track.

It's still in the planning stages. I'm waiting to hear back from my "co-pilot". If he can't go "it'll be scrubbed."

Ideal situation would be a "layover" Fri. & Sat. night and be close enough so as not to sit in traffic for hours just to get into the track. If we go we'll have a support vehicle on Saturday when the other guys come up from North Carolina.

Kings Dominion Park is about half way from Calabash N.C. to Newburgh N.Y. and this track is pretty close to that.

As it stands now I'm in a "holding pattern" till I hear back from the guys. This might not happen. We have done several trips this year and there might be a vacation or wife conflict with the others.

Why, what's your thoughts?

Bill,

Hanover County Airport is about 6 miles from the track....If that works, maybe we can get you a boondock spot on the airport....After listening to racecars all day, a few airplanes shouldn't disturb your sleep..You may also need to be discrete regarding adult beverages in public view, but other than that, it might be an option for you......

Let me know and I'll make the calls to see if it's do-able....
