Any of you golden boys and girls ever been to those small beach parks around Carpenteria. Fario, I think is one and what about Lake Cachuma. I am in the midst of some productive daydreaming and have sent away for camp host volunteer info.

We have LOVED Cachuma since the Coolidge administration. It gets full on weekends, but during the week, it can be quite nice. Take a boat out and watch the deer come down and graze on water plants in the evening. Lie on a grassy knoll and watch the buzzards and condors soar. Fish. Tour wineries. Visit the Solvang motorcycle museum. Eat pea soup. Have a Jalama Burger. Stay at Jalama if it is not too windy. Explore and hike the San Rafael Wilderness. We often leave our Barth in storage at Cachuma and take the 4WD and a tent up for an overnight or two.

Don't know anything about camp hosts there, though.

Check out El Capitan.
